Q1. What airport should I fly into?
A1. Long Beach Airport (LGB) is closest to the ship
terminal at San Pedro, California. But it’s better to fly into Los Angeles
International (LAX) and you often get a lower fare. We recommend our sponsor www.CornerTravelStore.com
for all flight bookings.
Q2. When should I arrive?
A2. We are encouraging everyone to arrive on Sunday to
avoid problems with flight and/or traffic delays and to allow for our early
boarding. Sunday’s FREE Scrapbook Diva® Soirre will
feature activities from 1 p.m. through 9 p.m., including papercrafting
and party games for prizes – Let the Fun Begin!
We’ve secured a special room rate at the Sunrise
Hotel in San Pedro
We will have a complimentary Get-Acquainted Breakfast at the hotel Monday
morning and leave from there for the ship about 11 a.m.
Those driving in and staying at the hotel can park their car there for the
entire time of the cruise (Sunday afternoon through Friday morning) for a
fee or use secured cruise terminal parking.
Q3. What about the ship, our cabins and
roommates?
A3. We will be sailing on Royal Caribbean’s ‘Monarch
of the Seas’ which is beautifully appointed. This ship has a wonderful 3-room
Conference Center with two good-sized workshop rooms, each featuring a full
wall of windows so we can view the ocean and get great light. Ship amenities
can be viewed at Monarch
of the Seas
Our cabins are double occupancy, chiefly window cabins on Deck 7, where the
conference rooms are. We can find you an appropriate roommate, or you
can make arrangements to share a cabin with a cropping friend, or you can
bring a non-cropping guest to share your cabin.
Q4. What does the cost include?
A4. The cruise cost includes all the workshops/classes, demos, use of many tools and
products, launch to
Catalina Island, etc. You will need to get to San Pedro (Los Angeles),
CA, by making your own travel arrangements. Other than that, the only
things not included are the typical cruise ‘extras’: carbonated
beverages, adult drinks, tips, casino, purchases at on-board shops or at the
Diva Craft Lounge, spa services, etc.
We are offering a FREE Sunday Scrapbook Diva® Soirre in San Pedro, before
the cruise begins on Monday, and we encourage everyone to arrive that day. All
types of Diva Delights will keep us busy, with cropping, classes, and games
all afternoon and evening. Best of all, you will avoid potential problems with
Monday morning traffic in L.A. or airline delays which might make you miss the
boat. Oh, no!!! All of this is included for the cost of your hotel room for
Sunday night. Dinner will be Dutch Treat. Then we will continue to play and get acquainted through the
evening.
Q5. What if I lose my luggage, get hurt or
sick, or have other problems?
A5. The comprehensive insurance we are purchasing, for
everyone (included in the cost of your cruise) covers everything including
pre-existing conditions from March 14th.
Q6. What ports do we stop at?
A6. On Tuesday, we have a very special stop in San
Diego the
Diva's home town; on Wednesday, it’s Catalina Island
(off the California coast); and on Thursday, Ensenada,
Mexico. Going ashore is optional – you can
stay on board and crop, lounge around the pool, or even get a massage, if you
like.
Q7. At the end of the cruise, when do we
leave the ship?
A7. All good things must come to an end – even Diva
Delights. We leave the ship starting about 9 or 10 a.m. Friday morning, so you
could fly out on a late afternoon flight, if you need to. You can also stay
overnight Friday at the Sunrise Hotel at our special rate, if you want to
visit or see the sights in the area. Or go to CornerTravelStore.com
to find other lodging if
you are going to some other part of Los Angeles, like Disneyland in Orange
County, just down the road. Advance reservations are recommended as weekend
availability is sometimes scarce.
Q8. Will we get to keep samples of
products we use on board?
A8. Absolutely. You’ll go home with lots of fun
merchandise and projects presented on-board.
There will also be lots
of fun products to try out during the cruise. While
you cannot take these home, you can get a really good idea of how they could
help you in your scrapbooking – great info for possible future purchases!
Q9. What about classes and crops during
the cruise?
A9. From
the moment you settle in to your crop space you can sit down
and begin to crop. We will do small demos on products and techniques
and you are welcome to use them yourself.
In the past
we conducted formal classes but we have found that most croppers
just want to socialize and complete their long overdue projects
and albums.
Q10. What do I need to bring?
A10. Pack casual clothes for shipboard wear with a dressy
outfit for the Tuesday dinner. Don’t forget your boa and
tiara! If you don’t have one, not to worry, Diva Danielle
will have the perfect ones for you or order now from the Diva
Collection! Bring your swim suit if you wish
for pool or spa (no skinny-dipping!). Wear comfortable shoes. Of course,
you’ll want to bring your camera. We’ll have a printer for you to make photos
from your digital camera for cropping on board. There is also a photo shop on
board where you can get film developed and printed for a fee.
For cropping, bring your favorite tools, some basic products, and any pages
you might want to work on. Leave some extra space in your crop case for the
free samples you’ll receive on board, prizes and projects you complete. Your suitcases will definitely be
fuller going home!
Q11. What documentation do I need to
board the ship?
A11. The U.S. Government's Intelligence Reform Bill
requires passports for all air and sea travel to or from Canada, Mexico, Central
and South America, the Caribbean and Bermuda. Don't risk disrupting your travel
plans! Please take a minute to
review the new regulations below. If you don't already have a valid passport, be
sure to avoid the rush and give yourself plenty of time to apply for one. Once
you've got a passport in hand, the whole world is yours to explore.
