Behind the Scenes at Liz Jardine Studio
Danielle and Rayme vist the famous Liz Jardine Studio in a beautiful old brick warehouse that has been redone as loft spaces in the heart of San Diego California where her assistants and her are able to create artwork for projects in any size and scale you can envision.
She is one of the art industry’s hottest and most in-demand artists and continually creates works that are unique and relevant, whether as originals, posters or exclusive collections. Her newest series is All-Out Abstraction, instead of subject matter of any kind the story is color; layered rich color and more often than not I finish with a juicy coat of oil-based stains and varnishes to increase the reflectivity of those colors.
Liz's paintings grace numerous corporate and
residential collections across the globe. On a recent trip to India
She grew up in New York City, which is, as she says, “The best possible place on the planet for a budding young artist”. Her mother was a docent at an art museum, and kept her enrolled in a steady stream of “every manner of art class.” Her father, who is also a painter, would take her to a different museum every Sunday. In addition to her childhood exposure to art and museums, Liz found that New York City’s Broadway shows heightened her creative senses to the endless combinations of color and light, fantasy and whimsy that would eventually be incorporated into her work.
Wanderlust has swept Liz to exotic countries both near and far. She has toured extensively throughout Asia and been on safari in Kenya. Says Liz, “I am a world traveler, I have been absolutely everywhere! My most recent adventure took me to India and it was fabulous – a life-changing experience.” Jardine also paints at least one painting a month for various charities in and out of California. Says Jardine, “These are the most fun pieces because they come from the heart.” The donated paintings go to a wide range of causes, from Jardine’s local theatre company to Planned Parenthood, Habitat for Humanity, Greenpeace, Human Rights Campaign (HRC), Equality California (EQCA), public radio and TV, various community organizations like “The Center”, which helps at-risk youth find housing and services, and a group that focuses on preventing cruelty to animals. Liz definitely is attuned to the Diva Doctrine of being Bold, Different and Always Kind! Watch Show Video
