Dee Gruenig and Suze Weinberg

Our first guest is Dee Gruenig one of the first to get people excited about rubber stamping back in 1979. Dee is a designer, an author with her Great Rubber Stamp Book selling somewhere around an astounding half million copies, an instructor via TV, DVD's, videos and classes, and a retailer who has had 6 independent retail stores over a quarter of a century. She left teaching to begin her company Posh Impressions. She taught large, full classes about scrapbooking back in 1986 before the great surge in popularity just because she loved it. Today she works with well established companies to contribute ideas, designs and instruction. She is often a featured speaker at major events including the first 9 Stampin' Up conventions, was one of the first to introduce stamping as a major feature on network television (ABC’s Home Show), has been a standard guest on HGTV’s Carol Duvall Show for about 10 years, besides doing some DIY and Public Television. Her online stamp club, Club Posh, began in 2001 when Posh Impressions' web master and about 70 stampers expressed interest in establishing a club for stamping and scrapbooking. Today it is a very busy site with nearly 6,000 on-line members. Many participate in forum discussions, offering mutual help and care, member stamp art galleries, swaps, contests and challenges. Dee's newest products are five large unmounted rubber stamp collections using the EZ Mount system of unmounted rubber stamping made and originated by Sunday International. Working with these stamps are her signature Blending Blox and brush art markers made by Marvy. She also has two current popular DVDs available; the 2 1/2 hour Simply Posh and the shorter, newest, Using EZ Mount with Dee Gruenig that features her four newest projects. It was shot with a live audience.

Our second guest is internationally known, Suze Weinberg, who has been designing and creating with rubber stamps and mixed media for over 20 years. Suze has owned and operated her own agency, The Suze Weinberg Design Studio, Inc. in Howell, NJ for many years. Her calligraphic & stamped work has been published in the Speedball Textbook, The Greeting Card Design Book, Rubber Stamper Magazine, RubberStampMadness, National Stampagraphic, VAMP Stamp News, Calligraphy Review and, her own calligraphy book (published by Troll Associates in November 1995) “Do It Yourself” Calligraphy geared for ages 12 to adult. In the first two months of its publication this book sold over 50,000 copies & immediately went into its second printing. Suze has spent the over 20 years teaching rubber stamp related classes for stamp stores, clubs and conventions all over the United States and abroad with classes in Hawaii, Germany, England, South Africa, Australia and Royal Caribbean cruises. She has a large signature line of products, many of them manufactured by Ranger Industries (which fall under the banner of Melt Art) and are carried by stores worldwide. Her first video“Ultimate Enamels” came in 1998 and the second “Backgrounds Into The Forefront” in April of 1999. That same year Sterling Publications published her first hardcover book “The Art of Rubber Stamping”. She has two “How-to” books “Totally Textured Stamp Art” and “Melt Art Impressions” published by Design Originals. In her ‘other life’ Suze is quite proud to be an accomplished musician, having studied piano since age 6 and singing professionally as a cantor in her synagogue for 16 years and is a graduate of the Fashion Institute of Technology, NYC. She and husband Lenny, a marine engineer, have been married for 44 years. They have 3 married children and four grandchildren. Two beautiful cats, Sterling and Mollie, round out the household and think the tub of embossing powder on Suze’s work table is a fancy litter box!!
